Fiji Rugby Union has scored a major win off the field after making an impressive debut at the 2026 Hibiscus Festival Pageant, with contestant Suliana Latianara finishing as First Runner-Up.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for the union, which stepped into the pageant arena for the first time this year, showcasing its commitment to empowering women beyond the rugby field.
Latianara’s strong performance throughout the competition earned widespread praise and highlighted the growing opportunities for women in sport to serve as role models within their communities.
Speaking after the crowning, Latianara credited her success to the unwavering support of her sponsors, family, and especially her father, whose encouragement helped guide her throughout the journey.
She also dedicated the achievement to her late mother, saying she carried her mother’s memory with her every step of the way during the competition.
For Fiji Rugby Union, the result is more than a pageant accolade. It represents a platform to inspire young women across the country, proving that confidence, resilience, and leadership can be celebrated both on and off the sporting stage.
The union’s successful debut at the Hibiscus Festival signals a new chapter in promoting women’s participation, visibility, and empowerment in Fiji.
