Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka opened the Fiji Tourism Convention after a lapse of 13 years at the Shangri-La Yanuca Island Resort in Sigatoka this morning.
He says the conference is an opportunity to bring stakeholders together and look and work towards managing the industry in the now, and in the future.
Mr Gavoka also says the Ministry has developed Fiji’s 10 Year National Sustainable Tourism Framework, and part of the discussions and key resolutions at this forum will be implicated in an outcome document.
The last Tourism Convention was held in 2010, at the Plantation Island Resort. Watch our midday bulletin for more on this story and the 6pm news for full coverage from this event.
