A financial management workshop was held this morning to assemble key stakeholders in the field of social services, exchange best practices, and explore opportunities to bolster financial governance.
The workshop include series of insightful presentations, providing participants with a comprehensive overview of current challenges and potential solutions in public finance management.
“I’m glad to be part of this workshop in learning about confidence in budget and financial management”, Maria Colati, the Vice President of Lami District Council of Social Services said.
The event was organized by the Fiji Council of Social Services, bringing together district representatives and stakeholders.
The Pacific Islands Association of Non-Governmental Organization Executive Director Emeline Ilolahia was also in attendance, who says, the workshop is part of a bigger project they are working in collaborating with the UNDP, and funded by the European Union.
“FCOSS has identified three areas in Fiji to conduct similar workshops, to simplify the process, like budget submission, and financial managements. Across the region we don’t have a structure process, this is something we want to look at, and create a space for citizens”, Ilolahia said.
The two days will not only provide a valuable space for knowledge sharing but also foster crucial networking opportunities among professionals dedicated to advancing public finance management.
