Several rural roads in Fiji’s Western Division have been closed due to severe flooding following heavy rainfall. The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has issued an urgent advisory, urging motorists to exercise extreme caution and avoid attempting to cross flooded areas.

In Sigatoka, the following crossings are underwater:

  • Kabisi Crossing
  • Ulusila Crossing
  • Nacocolevu Crossing
  • Lomawai Road – Vatukadiri Crossing

In Nadi:

  • Mate Road Crossing

In Lautoka:

  • Drasa Dam Road (1st Crossing)
  • Vakabuli Paipai (1st Crossing)
  • Saru Back Road Crossing
  • Buabua Road (1st Crossing)
  • Vuda Back Road (1st Crossing)
  • Navula Road Crossing

In Ba:

  • Marinitawa Road
  • Toge Road Crossing

In Tavua:

  • Kings Road at Yaladro Junction (surface flooding—accessible only to 4x4s and heavy vehicles)
  • Mataniwai Road
  • Rukuruku Road
  • Nabuna Road
  • Yaladro Road
  • Qalela Road (1st Crossing)

The FRA is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as conditions evolve. Drivers are reminded to adhere to road closures, as flooded roads can be deceptively dangerous.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes where possible, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay informed through official updates.
