Aaron Mauger has stepped down as Assistant Coach of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians, with his resignation taking effect immediately.

Fiji Rugby says it respects Mauger’s decision and has thanked him for his contribution to the national team programme.

During his time with the Flying Fijians, Mauger brought international coaching experience, leadership and professionalism to the squad. He also played a key role in player development and built strong working relationships with players, coaches and management.

Fiji Rakavi Football Union Chief Executive Officer Koli Sewabu acknowledged Mauger’s commitment and the experience he brought to the national programme.

Sewabu said Mauger’s understanding of the international game, leadership and dedication to the players had made a significant contribution during his tenure.

Fiji Rugby says it understands the personal considerations behind Mauger’s decision and has wished him and his family well for the future.

The union will now begin the process of appointing a replacement to support the Flying Fijians ahead of their upcoming international commitments.

The team’s focus will shift to preparations for the Pacific Nations Cup in September, with Head Coach Senirusi Seruvakula and the existing coaching and management staff continuing with squad selection, planning and preparations for the campaign.
