The Fiji Water Flying Fijians have departed for Japan ahead of the 2026 Pacific Nations Championship, determined to make a strong impression as they chase a third consecutive title.

The national side left Fiji last night and will now shift its full focus to the championship campaign, where they will face some of the region’s top rugby nations.

The tournament provides an important opportunity for the Flying Fijians to test themselves against quality opposition as they continue building towards the Nations Championship in November.

With preparations intensifying, players and management will be aiming to build momentum and deliver consistent performances throughout the competition.

The championship semi-finals will be played at Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Osaka on September 12, with Fiji set to face Canada in the opening clash. Hosts Japan will then take on the United States in the second semi-final.

The competition will conclude in Tokyo, where the third-place playoff and final will be contested at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium on September 19.

Fiji enter the tournament as the defending champions and will be looking to secure a third straight Pacific Nations Championship crown after defeating Japan in both the 2024 and 2025 finals.
