The Fiji Water Flying Fijians were unable to capitalize on a strong first-half performance, falling 33-17 to Scotland in their Nations Championship clash after leading at halftime.

Fiji looked in control during the opening 40 minutes, running in three tries to take a 17-7 advantage into the break. Hooker Tevita Ikanivere crossed first for the Flying Fijians before Selestino Ravutaumada and flanker Elia Canakaivata added further tries to put the visitors in a commanding position.

Scotland, however, responded strongly after the restart, tightening up their defense and taking advantage of key opportunities as momentum shifted in their favor.

The home side mounted an impressive comeback through second-half tries from Pierre Schoeman, Jamie Dobie, and Scott Cummings, overturning Fiji’s lead and pulling away on the scoreboard.

Despite showing flashes of their attacking flair and physicality in the first half, the Flying Fijians struggled to maintain their intensity after the break as Scotland dominated proceedings to secure a 33-17 victory.

The result is a disappointing one for Fiji, who will rue missed opportunities after producing an encouraging first-half display but failing to close out the contest against a resurgent Scottish side.
