The FIJI Water Flying Fijians were warmly received by the Liverpool community during an official civic ceremony held at Liverpool Town Hall ahead of their Nations Championship encounter with England.

Hosted by the City of Liverpool, the reception brought together local leaders and representatives to celebrate Fiji’s arrival and the longstanding connection between the island nation and the host city.

Fiji Rugby Union Board Chairman Mr John Sanday expressed appreciation for the welcome extended to the team, thanking the people of Liverpool for their hospitality and support.

“We thank the citizens of Liverpool for allowing and welcoming us to your beautiful city,” Sanday said. “We also thank the city for staging Fiji’s second match of the Nations Championship.”

The Flying Fijians are spending the week based in Liverpool as they continue preparations for their much-anticipated clash against England at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The event provided an opportunity for the Fijian squad and officials to acknowledge the warm reception from the city, highlighting the significance of their visit and the strong bond being built between Fiji Rugby and the Liverpool community.
