The Joint Task Force in the Western Division has made another four arrests in the Lautoka area of operation, for cases of alleged unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Kasiano Vusonilawe said the JTF conducted two raids in Lautoka on Monday 10th August in Tavakubu and Vio Road.
In the first raid at Tavakubu, an 18-year-old student and a 24-year-old man were allegedly found with white substances believed to be methamphetamine.
Both suspects were taken into custody while the seized substances were sent for analysis.
In the second raid, at Vio Road, a 38-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were arrested following the discovery of several plastics containing white substances believed to be illicit substances.
Also seized were cash inclusive of local and foreign currencies believed to be proceeds of crime.The seized substances have been sent for analysis.
ACP Vusonilawe said successful raids conducted by the Joint Taskforce and routine operations team are as a result of the sharing of intelligence as well tips received from members of the public.
