Football supporters are in for a big weekend in Ba, with four teams set to battle for places in the 2026 Extra Battle of the Giants final at Four R Stadium, Govind Park, this Saturday.

The first semi-final kicks off at 2pm, with Group A winners Global Care Suva FC taking on hosts Dayals Steel Ba FC.

Suva comes into the knockout stage with strong momentum after beating Blue Gas Navua FC and defending champions Extra Supermarket Labasa FC during the pool matches.

Coach Pita Rabo’s side scored seven goals across its three pool games and will look to carry that attacking form into Saturday’s clash.

Standing in their way is a Ba side determined to make the most of home-ground advantage.

The Men in Black booked their semi-final place with wins over Tagimoucia Nadi FC and Khelvin Engineering Lautoka FC.

Ba has already claimed the BiC Fiji FACT and Extra Premier League titles this season under coach Ravinesh Kumar and will be chasing a third major trophy.

The second semi-final at 4.30pm will feature nine-time champions Stratum/PPCL Rewa FC against surprise package Nasinu FC.

Rewa finished top of Group B after convincing wins over Lautoka and Ba. However, the Delta Tigers will be looking to bounce back after narrowly losing to Nadi in their final pool match.

Nasinu, meanwhile, has emerged as one of the tournament’s biggest surprises.

After opening the competition with a loss to Labasa, the Giant Killers responded with back-to-back victories over Navua and Suva to secure their place in the final four.

The appearance marks Nasinu’s first BOG semi-final since 2019.

Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the four semi-finalists had earned their places after a competitive pool stage.

“We witnessed three days of competitive football during the pool stage, and the four best teams have qualified for the semi-finals,” Yusuf said.

He said supporters could expect two exciting contests, with all four sides determined to secure a place in Sunday’s final.

Yusuf also encouraged football fans from across the country to travel to Ba and enjoy the weekend with their families.

With defending champions Labasa already eliminated, this year’s tournament is guaranteed to produce a new champion.

The two semi-final winners will meet in the grand final at 3pm on Sunday.
