Fiji’s small business sector was celebrated in Suva as the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) marked MSME Day 2026, recognising entrepreneurs for their growth, resilience, and commitment to compliance.

The event saw 252 members of the FRCS MSME Business Community receive certificates for completing business development and compliance programmes, with 39 MSMEs graduating from a three-year training and coaching initiative as fully compliant businesses.

UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office Deputy Representative Ms. Eri Taniguchi acknowledged the progress of Fiji’s MSMEs and highlighted the importance of partnerships in supporting women entrepreneurs and market vendors.

She said FRCS had played a key role in helping businesses understand tax responsibilities, registration processes, and financial literacy while encouraging formalisation.

FRCS Director Taxation Ms. Momina Beg said more than 6,000 MSMEs had been supported through FRCS training over the past four years, strengthening business confidence and contributing to Fiji’s economic growth.

The celebration also introduced the FRCS MSME Newsletter and a new FAQ Guide to help entrepreneurs access easier information on registration, tax obligations, record keeping, and filing requirements.

Business owners shared how FRCS programmes helped them move from informal operations to more structured businesses with stronger financial practices and growth plans.

FRCS reaffirmed its commitment to continuing support for MSMEs through education, digital services, and coaching to help Fiji’s entrepreneurs succeed.
