A childhood spent playing soccer and casually kicking a rugby ball during school holidays has paved the way for Kavekini Karl Boselawa to achieve one of his biggest dreams.

The young talent has officially joined the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua as a Senior Development Player and is eager to make the most of the opportunity at the professional level.

Growing up, rugby was not Boselawa’s first choice of sport. Instead, he spent much of his childhood playing soccer, while rugby remained a recreational pastime shared with friends and family during holidays.

However, his love for the oval ball gradually grew, inspiring him to pursue the sport more seriously and work towards competing at a higher level.

Now part of the Fijian Drua setup, Boselawa is looking forward to learning from experienced players, developing his skills, and taking important steps in his rugby career.

The opportunity marks a major milestone for the youngster, who sees the Drua environment as the perfect platform to grow both as a player and a person.

Throughout his journey, Boselawa says one person has been there every step of the way, his father.

He credits his dad for the sacrifices, encouragement, and guidance that helped shape him into the player he is today.

With a strong support system behind him and a new chapter ahead, Boselawa is determined to make the most of his chance and work towards earning a place at the highest level of the game.
