The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre (FWCC) has reinforced its partnership with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) through a presentation aimed at improving support for survivors of violence.

The session, held on 30 July, was delivered to the ODPP’s Sexual Crimes Division by FWCC Manager Legal Miliana Tarai and Counsellor Supervisor Elina Cagilaba.

The presentation outlined the Centre’s counselling services, referral procedures, support available to complainants, and how counselling assists survivors throughout the criminal justice process.

It also created an opportunity for both organisations to discuss ways of strengthening coordination between counselling and legal services, including referral processes and the support provided to survivors during court proceedings.

FWCC says its partnership with the ODPP dates back to the 1990s and has contributed to improving support and access to justice for survivors of violence.

The Centre says it remains committed to working closely with the ODPP to ensure survivors across the country continue to receive the information, assistance and support they need while pursuing justice.
