The Environment and Climate Change launched the I Recycle Hub initiative in collaboration with the Pacific Recycling Foundation yesterday, 23 January.
The initiative, aligned with Fiji’s National Anti-Litter Campaign, will be implemented across government offices, encouraging staff to sort waste and promote sustainable waste management practices.
Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Mosese Bulitavu, stressed the importance of tackling littering to protect Fiji’s beaches and biodiversity, calling the programme a shift toward sustainability and civic pride.
He urged all Fijians to adopt responsible waste practices and emphasised that small actions, like sorting waste or reducing plastic use, can make a significant impact.
“Every small action—picking up litter, sorting waste, or refusing single-use plastics—makes a big difference.”
The initiative looks to inspire collective action for a cleaner, more sustainable Fiji.
