The 86th FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) will build towards its official opening next week with the tournament torch travelling through major football centres across Viti Levu.

The two-day relay will begin in Navua at 9am on Monday, October 5, before travelling through Nadroga, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki.

The relay will continue on Tuesday, October 6, starting in Korovou at 8.30am before moving through Nausori, Nakasi and Valelevu. The torch is expected to reach Suva City at 11am, where it will be hosted by the Suva and Lami teams.

The highlight will come at 7pm on Tuesday when the torch enters the stadium during the official opening ceremony of the 86th FMF IDC.

The opening ceremony will be officiated by Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Fiji, His Excellency Zhou Jian.

The relay is expected to bring football communities across Viti Levu together and build excitement ahead of the tournament.
