The Lautoka football team won its third Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion title in front of their home fans at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Coming into the second leg, Lautoka just needed a draw after winning the first 2-1, while Ba needed two clear goals.
The Men in Black were first on the scoreboard after Solomon Islander Darold Kakasi’s goal.
Lautoka’s top striker, Sairusi Nalaubu, equalized for the Blues from a corner kick with a perfectly timed header, as both teams went into halftime locked at one-all.
Lautoka extended its lead in the second half through Sitiveni Cavuilagi before Ba’s Suliano Tawanakoro equalized from the penalty spot, as the match ended in a 2-all draw, giving Lautoka the first win of the season.
Lautoka last won the CVC in 2017 and became the first team from the Western Division to win the title since 2019.
