Merchant Finance Limited has strengthened its commitment to community sport and regional development by partnering with Taveuni Rugby Union as the Official Naming Rights Partner for the team’s remaining home games in the 2026 Skipper Cup competition.

Announced on September 4, the sponsorship will support Taveuni Rugby Union in hosting its final five home matches of the season while also assisting player participation throughout the competition. The partnership reflects Merchant Finance’s ongoing investment in grassroots rugby and community development across the Northern Division.

Merchant Finance Chief Executive Officer Veilawa Rereiwasaliwa said the sponsorship aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting communities where it operates.

“Merchant Finance has a branch in Labasa, Savusavu and Taveuni. We are proud to support Taveuni as the only team from the North playing in the 2026 Skipper Cup. We look forward to making this a multi-year partnership and are proud of Taveuni’s performance in the competition so far,” Rereiwasaliwa said.

Taveuni Rugby Union Vice President Iowane Gade welcomed the partnership, describing it as a significant boost to the union’s campaign.

“This sponsorship will make a significant contribution towards the successful completion of our 2026 campaign. We are grateful for Merchant Finance’s commitment to Taveuni and look forward to building a strong partnership that benefits our players, supporters and the wider community,” Gade said.

As part of the agreement, Merchant Finance will receive branding opportunities across match-day activities, community engagement initiatives and promotional platforms during Taveuni’s remaining home fixtures.

The partnership highlights a shared vision of community development, youth engagement and the continued growth of rugby in Taveuni, while creating opportunities for stronger connections between businesses and local communities.
