Merchant Finance Pte Limited has strengthened its board-level expertise in corporate governance, risk management and regulatory compliance with the appointment of Emily King as a director.
King’s appointment took effect on October 6, adding more than 15 years of experience in corporate law, governance and financial services to the company’s board.
She currently serves as Acting Chief Operations Officer at the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), having previously held the position of General Counsel.
In these roles, she has developed extensive expertise in legal and governance leadership, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance and organisational strategy.
Her appointment comes as Merchant Finance emphasises the importance of strong governance and effective oversight in supporting the company’s long-term strategic objectives.
Merchant Finance Board Chairperson Isikeli Tikoduadua says King’s experience across legal, governance, risk and regulatory disciplines will be valuable as the company continues to strengthen its governance framework.
He says her appointment will also support the sustainable growth of the business.
King joins six other directors on the Merchant Finance Board, which is chaired by Tikoduadua and includes Sereana Matakibau, Jaoji Koroi, Cecil Browne, Sala Toganivalu-Lesuma and Narendra Kumar.
Merchant Finance says it remains committed to maintaining a board with the appropriate balance of skills, experience, independence and diversity to provide effective oversight and strategic direction.
