Methodist youth across Fiji marked Youth Special Sunday today, with a message of hope, love and belonging, while highlighting the importance of the fight against HIV and AIDS.

The theme for this year’s Youth Special Sunday is “Jesus is the Only Hope.”

The occasion is also a reminder to young people that they remain part of their communities and are loved and supported.

While speaking to Fiji One News, Liuliu ni MYF at the Centenary Methodist Church in Suva, Litia Soqeta highlighted that the day is also about reaching out to young people who may feel lost, rejected or without a place to stay.

“This Sunday is special dedicated to all of the Methodist Church in Fiji youths. And I believe all around Fiji, all the youths, this special Sunday is dedicated to us all” Soqeta highlighted.

“The importance of this Sunday is just to remind us that we are still part of a society or a community, and we are still loved” she continued.

She emphasized that the message is especially important for young people who are searching for love, comfort and acceptance.

“To my brothers and sisters that are out there, reaching out for, seeking for love, looking for a place to be, looking for a comfortable place to settle, from our youth at Centenary, we are just here, we are reminding you all that Jesus is the only hope” she shared.

The youth are also using the occasion to encourage greater awareness and support in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
