Cabinet has reviewed and welcomed the Government’s fiscal performance for the first half of the 2024–2025 financial year, covering the period from August 2024 to January 2025.
The report shows a marked improvement compared to the same period last year. According to officials, the positive fiscal results were largely driven by stronger-than-expected tax revenue collection and restrained expenditure in both operating and capital budgets.
Cabinet acknowledged this performance as a reflection of ongoing efforts to strengthen financial discipline and economic recovery under the current administration.
The Ministry of Finance will continue monitoring expenditure and revenue trends to ensure the fiscal year ends on a strong and sustainable note.
