The Fiji Mini Kulas opened their OFC U-17 Women’s Championship campaign in spectacular fashion, recording an emphatic 11-0 victory over the Cook Islands in Honiara.
Adi Reva was the star of the match, scoring five goals as Fiji registered its biggest-ever win in the competition. The young forward, who has already represented the senior Kulas, scored twice before halftime and completed her five-goal haul after the break.
Torika Boseiwaqa got Fiji off the mark from the penalty spot in the fifth minute before Esther Vunivi doubled the lead in the 20th minute. Boseiwaqa added her second six minutes later.
Reva then struck in the 33rd and 45th minutes as the Mini Kulas went into halftime with a commanding 5-0 advantage.
The second half saw Fiji continue its dominance, with Reva completing her hat-trick in the 50th minute before finding the net again in the 77th and 85th minutes.
Temalesi Masi made an immediate impact after coming on at halftime, scoring just two minutes into the second half before completing her brace in the 87th minute.
Elisha Narayan added the final goal with the last kick of the match to seal an 11-0 victory.
The Mini Kulas will now turn their attention to their second Group A match against New Zealand on Wednesday.
