Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran has met with the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Ship team to explore opportunities to strengthen community outreach and improve access to essential services across Fiji.
The discussions focused on how the Ministry, YWAM and other stakeholders can work together to better support women, children, older persons and persons with disabilities, particularly in remote and maritime communities.
During the meeting, the YWAM team said it regularly brings volunteer doctors, dentists and other professionals from overseas to provide services in Fiji. The organisation also expressed its commitment to partnering with the Ministry and agencies involved in social welfare, child protection and health services.
Kiran welcomed the team’s willingness to collaborate, saying partnerships are vital in ensuring vulnerable individuals and families can access the support and information they need.
The Ministry says it will continue discussions with YWAM and other partners to expand community outreach and improve service delivery to communities throughout the country.
