Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu expressed gratitude for the productive first day of the visit to the Parliament of Australia, where discussions with counterparts took place.
They were warmly welcomed by Australian Senate President, Sue Lines and Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives, Milton Dick.
The delegation toured the Parliament House, appreciating its cultural exhibits and meeting with committee chairs. They also interacted with media personnel and visited the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.
The day concluded with a dinner hosted by Australian officials, fostering further discussions on parliamentary cooperation. The Australian hosts expressed appreciation for Fiji’s partnership in the Pacific.
