Lelean Memorial School fullback and sharpshooter Apenisa Navukitu played a pivotal role in his side’s Under-18 Eastern Zone title triumph over Ratu Kadavulevu School, scoring 21 points in the final over the weekend.
The talented playmaker revealed that his passion for rugby was so strong that he pleaded with his mother to allow him to attend Lelean, giving him the opportunity to pursue the sport he loves.
Behind Navukitu’s success is a story of sacrifice and support. He credits his mother, coaches, grandparents, and family members for helping him reach this milestone, saying their belief and encouragement have been instrumental throughout his journey.
The young fullback dedicated the achievement to his loved ones and remains focused on his long-term goal of one day representing Fiji on the international stage.
His mother, Aralai Navukitu, continues to provide guidance and support, encouraging him to stay disciplined, humble, and committed as he works towards wearing the Fiji jersey in the future.
