A second police officer attached to the Counter Narcotics Bureau has been charged in connection with the alleged importation of over 4 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The officer, in his 30s, was arrested following an ongoing investigation into a joint operation between the Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
He faces one count of Unlawful Importation of Illicit Drugs under Section 5(b) of the Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004.
He is expected to appear at the Nadi Magistrates Court today.
This latest development brings the total number of individuals charged in the case to six, all under the scrutiny of the CID’s Major Crime Unit as investigations continue.
