The Pacific Climate Mobility Training held in Suva has officially wrapped up after three days of regional collaboration, learning and dialogue focused on climate-related mobility challenges across the Pacific.

Hosted from 12–14 May at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel, the training brought together participants from across the region, including representatives from the International Organization for Migration, civil society organisations, regional agencies, media personnel and technical experts.

Sessions covered a wide range of topics including climate science, resilience, loss and damage, human rights, human security, policy development and community-led responses to climate mobility.

Participants also took part in interactive workshops, scenario-based exercises and discussions aimed at strengthening regional capacity to support communities affected by climate change.

Organisers said the fifth regional training marked an important step forward for the Pacific Climate Change Migration and Human Security Programme, strengthening efforts to ensure climate mobility in the Pacific remains safe, dignified and respectful of cultural identity and human rights.
