Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has congratulated the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) on achieving its highest-ever annual revenue collection, saying the milestone reflects growth in government revenue.

FRCS collected a record $3.51 billion in net revenue for the financial year ended July 31, exceeding the Government’s annual forecast by $136.2 million.

Rabuka says the result is important and should be acknowledged, particularly as it demonstrates stronger revenue collection during a period of economic uncertainty.

However, the Prime Minister says the additional revenue does not mean Government can simply increase its spending, as the 2026–2027 National Budget has already set out the Government’s planned revenue and expenditure for the financial year.

He says Government’s financial planning is based on the budget that has already been approved, meaning the record FRCS collection needs to be considered within the broader fiscal framework.

The FRCS result was driven largely by increases in Net Income Tax, Customs collections and Departure Tax, with PAYE and Company Income Tax also recording strong growth.

Rabuka says while the Government recognises the significance of the milestone, fiscal discipline remains important as Fiji continues to manage economic pressures, including fuel prices, inflation and global uncertainty.
