Ati Kepo put PNG back in front, only for Roy Krishna to convert a penalty for Fiji.
Raymond Gunemba scored late for PNG, but Fiji’s Merrill Nand equalised in the final seconds, ensuring a dramatic draw.
PNG still has a chance to progress with a win over Solomon Islands on Sunday.
