Police are investigating the discovery of a parcel containing white substances found on an island in the Lau Group on May 30.
The package was reportedly found by a woman and her daughter after they returned from a fishing trip. Authorities were alerted and the parcel was subsequently collected by police.
The package is currently in police custody, with the substances yet to undergo testing as investigations continue.
The Fiji Police Force has acknowledged the swift reporting of the discovery and thanked community leaders for their ongoing cooperation and support.
Members of the public are being reminded not to touch or handle suspicious packages.
