It was a historic moment for the villagers of Saqani in Cakaudrove as they now have access to purified drinking water.

This comes after the commissioning of the Ecological Purification System by the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Sakiasi Ditoka.

More than 150 villagers, students of Natadra District School and Government officials serving in the district will benefit from of the project.

Ditoka stated that ensuring people have access to quality drinking water was a priority for the Government as it was in the Sustainable Development Goals which Fiji has made a commitment to.

He also stressed to the villagers the importance of having a Village Development Plan as it would assist the Government in implementing development programs for communities.
