Prime Minister and People’s Alliance Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka has called on party members and supporters to remain united, committed and focused on the progress and prosperity of Fiji as the country prepares for another general election.

Addressing members at the People’s Alliance Party’s annual general meeting, Rabuka acknowledged party officials, provincial representatives and coalition partners for their continued support and contributions to the party and government.

He reflected on the coalition government’s journey since taking office in 2022, recognising the role played by its partners and supporters in maintaining the government’s leadership and implementing its commitments.

Rabuka said the annual general meeting provided an important opportunity for members to assess the party’s financial position, review the government’s performance, acknowledge achievements and identify areas requiring improvement.

He emphasised that leadership was a responsibility entrusted by party members, describing himself and other leaders as servants of their members’ will. He also expressed gratitude for the confidence and support given to him, saying it had strengthened his commitment to continue serving.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the ongoing parliamentary work on the proposed constitutional amendment bill, urging members to understand the significance of the process and the role citizens play in determining the country’s future.

With the next general election on the horizon, Rabuka called on People’s Alliance Party members to exercise their responsibilities wisely, remain united and make decisions that would benefit both current and future generations.

He stressed that the country’s progress and prosperity depended on collective commitment, responsible leadership and the continued support of its people.
