Newly included in the Flying Fijians extended squad for next month’s Pacific Nations Cup in Japan, Julian Ravuiwasa describes his rise to the international setup as nothing short of a miracle.

“Firstly, I would like to thank God for giving me such an amazing talent. It has definitely been a long journey of hard work and sacrifice but I thank God for giving me such an opportunity. I am very happy that I am able to reach this stage of my rugby career and I have God to thank for that. I believe that I am ready to play.”

Despite once believing is age has worked against him, Ravuiwasa admits his journey is proof that it is never toolate to chase your dreams, and hopes his story inspires others to do the same.

“For all the boys out there, if you think it’s too late, nothing is ever too late. Even for me, I am a living testament to that statement. I thought it was too late because my age was increasing, however, I kept telling myself that it was still not too late and everything will be possible. It is, however, totally up to you. Your sacrifice and the way you set your goals and mindset until you reach your goal will determine if you reach it or not.”
