Rewa FC reignited their OFC Men’s Champions League campaign with an impressive 4-2 victory over Tupapa Maraerenga FC in front of their home supporters in Ba.

Needing a win after an opening-round defeat, the Delta Tigers delivered a strong performance to claim their first points of the tournament and keep their hopes of progressing alive.

Rewa controlled much of the first half and were rewarded through the outstanding Ramzan Khan, who capped a dominant display with a stunning long-range strike into the top corner to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Tupapa responded immediately after the break, leveling the scores within seconds of the restart when Tremaine Rimene-Albrett finished calmly after being played through by Honoura Maraetefau.

However, Rewa quickly regained the lead. Don Keana burst down the right flank and delivered a dangerous cross that Joseph Athale eventually bundled home after reacting quickest inside the penalty area.

The hosts continued to pile on the pressure and extended their advantage midway through the second half. After a corner was only partially cleared, Setareki Hughes created space and curled a superb left-footed effort into the far corner to make it 3-1.

Rewa sealed the win five minutes from time when Josaia Sela headed goalwards from Kavaia Rawaqa’s cross before converting the rebound after an initial save from goalkeeper Tahiri Elikana.

Tupapa continued to fight until the final whistle and grabbed a late consolation goal through Maraetefau, who capitalized on a misplaced pass from goalkeeper Epeli Loaniceva to make the final score 4-2.

The victory gives Rewa a crucial boost in the competition as they remain firmly in the race for a place in the next stage of the OFC Men’s Champions League.
