The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, marked the Chinese Spring Festival with a vibrant celebration, reinforcing the growing ties between the two nations.
The event, held at RFMF Headquarters, featured cultural exchanges, formal ceremonies, and a showcase of Fiji-China diplomatic relations. The Chinese Ambassador was welcomed with a quarter guard ceremony, symbolizing respect and the enduring partnership between the RFMF and China.
In his address, the Chinese Ambassador extended New Year greetings, highlighting 2025 as the Year of the Snake, a symbol of wisdom and resilience—qualities reflected in the RFMF’s dedication to national service.
The RFMF Commander expressed appreciation for China’s continued support and reaffirmed Fiji’s commitment to strengthening military cooperation and diplomatic engagement with Beijing.
Beyond formalities, the celebration embraced cultural exchange and camaraderie, with RFMF personnel and young diplomats from the Chinese Embassy participating in interactive games and activities.
