After an 11-year hiatus, the Fiji Volleyball Federation is bringing back school volleyball competitions.

President for the Federation, Myron Williams says the decision to bring back the Central Eastern Secondary Schools Volleyball Championships is aimed at reviving young volleyball talent in the country while providing a pathway for students to develop their skills and potentially progress to higher levels of the sport.

Williams explains that although interest have also come from the Western and Northern schools, only until a framework has been put in place by the Fiji Secondary School Volleyball Committee, can they take the games to these two divisions.

“The interest was quite high but we had to cap it to the Central and Eastern schools. We couldn’t host the Western schools because we will have to wait for a framework to be put in place by the Fiji Secondary Schools Volleyball Committee.”
