The State is seeking a custodial sentence for a former Chief Executive Officer of an investment company.
Nouzab Fareed appeared before Chief Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola today for sentencing submissions.
He who was found guilty of two counts of indecent assault by the Suva Magistrates Court.
The complainant alleged that during separate meetings, Fareed hugged her without consent, sniffed her and made unwanted advances.
The State urged the court to record a conviction and impose a custodial term.
In response, the defence asked the court to either grant Fareed a discharge without a conviction being recorded or impose a suspended sentence.
Fareed has been remanded in custody.
The case has been adjourned to the 27th of this month for sentencing.
