Students of Adi Maopa Secondary School in Lau are gaining practical skills, greater confidence and new career opportunities through Technical and Vocational Education and Training, as the school celebrated TVET Week to showcase the value of hands-on learning and skills development.

The displays featured student work in agriculture, computer studies, carpentry and home economics, highlighting not only technical ability but also teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills.

These experiences help bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace while equipping students with skills that can support lifelong success.

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo encouraged students to remain focused on their education and reminded them that their future is shaped by the choices they make today.

The students were commended for their creativity, innovation and practical skills demonstrated.

Vosarogo described the exhibition as especially significant for students from the maritime islands, as it exposed them to career pathways and employment opportunities that could shape their futures.
