Suva rugby team is highly likely to be awarded the points from their opening game of the Skipper Cup competition played yesterday at Bidesi Park in Suva.
The Capital City side beat the newcomer’s Ba by 29 points to nil.
However, this match was deemed friendly between the two sides when Ba turned up at Bidesi Park wearing a different jersey although they were given a proper uniform by the Fiji Rugby Union to wear in their Skipper Cup match.
Fiji One News believes that Ba has breached some commercial guidelines and thus they’ll be penalized while Suva will get the points from the match.
FRU competition’s manager Tiko Matawalu they will look into the report before deciding on the Suva versus Ba game in the opening round of the Skipper Cup competition.
According to Matawalu Ba breached the commercial guidelines of the tournament in terms of participation.
He says there are penalties for any breach for such teams that breach these conditions.
Matawalu says before the start of the competition, FRU has stressed to Unions the importance of abiding by the commercial guidelines.
