In Fiji:
Police and social Welfare Officers in Lautoka have last night attended to the report at Sukanaivalu Road where it was alleged that two children were victims of abuse and neglect.
The two children were removed from the said house and placed in the care of a relative residing in Lautoka.
Despite the efforts of officials, the children’s mother did not want to leave with the children.
The Fiji Police Force wishes to remind everyone that under the Child Care and Protection Act 2024, Failure to report Suspected Child Abuse is an Offence.
Members of the public are also urged to report issues against Police service delivery to 1681.
Investigations by both departments into the matter continues.
