Two more parcels confirmed to contain cocaine have been discovered in Fiji, with police now investigating a further suspicious package found along the coastline of Koro Island.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Kasiano Vusonilawe said the two latest discoveries were made in Lau and Qamea on the 14th and 15th of August.

The parcels were uplifted and brought to the Fiji Police Forensics Laboratory in Suva, where forensic analysis confirmed both tested positive for cocaine.

ACP Vusonilawe said another suspected parcel was reported today after it was found washed ashore along a coastal area on Koro Island.

The parcel is expected to be uplifted and transported to Suva, where it will undergo forensic testing to determine its contents.

ACP Vusonilawe commended members of the public for promptly reporting the suspicious discoveries, saying their quick action allowed police to respond and safely uplift the substances for testing.

Police are again urging members of the public not to open, touch or otherwise handle suspicious parcels.
