Wet weather ends schools Netball Championship

The Crest Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Championship has come to an early end following the completion of the quarter-finals today.

Adverse weather conditions and the state of the playing courts forced organisers to cancel the semi-finals and finals, bringing the three-day championship to a premature close.

Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Association officials confirmed that the teams that progressed from the quarter-finals will share the championship honours, prize money and trophies in their respective grades.

The decision was made in the interest of player safety and to prevent further damage to the playing surfaces following persistent wet weather during the competition.
