Women engineers, industry leaders and professionals gathered at the NASA Events Centre last night for an International Women in Engineering Day panel discussion aimed at fostering collaboration, sharing experiences and encouraging greater participation of women in the engineering field.
The event, hosted by Engineers Fiji in partnership with Fiji Airports, provided a platform for meaningful conversations on career development, industry challenges and opportunities within the aviation and engineering sectors.
Among the panelists were Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Hon. Sashi Kiran, Fiji Airports Chief Executive Officer Mesake Nawari, GHD Aviation Engineer Kelera Wainiqolo, Fiji Airways Aircraft Reliability Engineer Silipa Halofaki and Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji Aerodrome Inspector Harieta Tudreu.
The discussion focused on leadership, mentorship, innovation and the importance of creating opportunities for more women to thrive in engineering careers.
Fiji Airports reaffirmed its commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in the industry through its partnership with Engineers Fiji and initiatives that promote greater representation of women in engineering.
Participants were thanked for contributing to an evening of insightful discussions, shared experiences and inspiration as stakeholders continue working towards shaping the future of the profession.
