David “Tolu” Young has secured a place in the Commonwealth final after clocking an impressive 22.09, marking another significant milestone for Fiji swimming on the international stage.

The achievement adds to Young’s growing record of representing Fiji at major competitions.

He was part of the Fijian relay team that reached the finals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

His latest performance in 2026 has now seen him become the first Fijian swimmer to qualify for an individual Commonwealth Games final, creating a historic moment for Fiji Aquatics and Team Fiji.
