Suva’s young squad is beginning to find its rhythm in the Skipper Cup, with head coach Vueti Tupou encouraged by the progress following their second win of the season against Rewa.
Tupou says the younger players are showing promise but still need to adjust to the intensity and demands of provincial rugby, with the team working to address gaps in their skills.
“We have young boys in the team now. And some of them really perform well when they play club games. But when they come to the Skipper Cup level, it’s another level. So that’s where we need to upskill them up and we see some loopholes in their skills that we needed to improve.”
With Kadavu next on the schedule, Tupou says Suva will analyze both their own performance and their opponents as they look to build momentum in the competition.
“We will go back and analyse our game and analyse Kadavu and we’ll try and map out a game plan for Kadavu next week.”
