Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s lock Carletta Yee has reached another impressive milestone, making her international debut for the Vodafone Fijiana 15s in their Oceania Rugby Women’s XV Challenge victory last Saturday.
The 17-year-old featured in the matchday 23 squad that edged out Samoa 24-20, helping Fiji retain the title in a fiercely contested match.
Yee described the experience as a confidence booster and expressed her eagerness to continue developing as a player.
“Being part of the match day 23 really helped build my confidence and now I’m just looking forward to learning as much as I can and improving every day,” she said.
Fijiana captain Alfreda Fisher praised Yee’s composure on debut, highlighting her contribution in what was a physical and hard-fought encounter.
“Our debutant Carletta played well in a very physical game against a quality Samoan side. I am proud of her and the rest of the girls for their performance,” Fisher said.
Earlier this year, Yee made her Super Rugby debut for the Fijian Drua in their standalone match against the Brumbies at Churchill Park in March.
