Fiji Football Association has decided to change the venue for the Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants semifinals and final.
While this decision may make some football fans in the southern division happy, fans in the western division might be disappointed by this decision.
Fiji FA confirmed that the two semifinals and final for the Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants will now be held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva next month.
CEO Mohammed Yusuf says they have met with the Fiji Sports Council and decided to bring the semifinals and final to the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
He says the first semifinal will kick off at 2pm while the second semifinal will be played at 4:30pm and the final is scheduled for 3pm.
Semifinals will be played on 16th September while the final will be on 17th September.
According to Yusuf, Lautoka is the only team that has qualified from the Western division while Suva and Navua are two southern sides with either Labasa or Rewa joining them in the last four.
He says the remaining two games which were interrupted by a power outage in Nadi, will take place on 14th September at Prince Charles Park.
Labasa will need to Ba by two clear goals to advance into the knockout stages while the game between Nadi and Tailevu Naitasiri will be a dead rubber, as both teams are out of the tournament.
Yusuf says the reason Fiji FA moved the game to 14th September, is to allow either Labasa or Rewa at least 48 hours to prepare for the semifinal fixture.
