A total of 44 reports against the operations of Ebay Shop are under investigation.
Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime (ACP) Mesake Waqa said reports received are also from agents.
Forty reports were lodged with the Western Division Task Force, 3 in the North and 1 at CID HQ.
A/ACP Waqa says of the 44 reports, one is a referral from the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission.
He adds that the majority of the victims had joined Ebay Shop in late August 2023 and were unable to make withdrawals.
The Assistant Commissioner of Crime says due to the complex nature of cyber crimes, investigations are expected to take time, and the task force is working with the FCCC and the Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit.
