French Embassy and “Relais autour du monde” collaborate for third annual global Paralympics race: Promoting women and unity in sports.

The French Embassy, in partnership with the esteemed “Relais autour du monde” initiative, is proud to announce the successful completion of the third consecutive Global Paralympics Race: Women and Unity in Sports.

This event, a testament to the embassy’s unwavering dedication to inclusivity and the promotion of sports as a vehicle for unity and empowerment, marks a significant milestone in the lead-up to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Global Paralympics Race brought together athletes and individuals with disabilities from around the world, emphasizing the importance of parity and inclusion in sports.

The event, held as a precursor to the Paris 2024 Olympics, received widespread participation and acclaim, showcasing the global community’s commitment to fostering an inclusive sporting environment.

His Excellency Mr. François-Xavier Leger., the French Ambassador to Fiji, emphasized the relay’s role in promoting sports parity and inclusion, highlighting its significance in the journey towards the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The event received high praise from Mr. Inoke Bainimarama, Executive Director of the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC), who commended the inclusive spirit of the Global Paralympics Race and celebrated Fiji’s participation alongside 127 other countries.

Vanessa Kilne, CEO of the Fiji Association of Sport and National Olympic Committee, paid tribute to the exceptional talents and resilience of the para-community, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the sporting landscape.

This collaborative initiative stands as a powerful testament to the transformative power of unity, celebration, and support within the realm of sports.

As preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympics continue, the Global Paralympics Race sets the stage for a memorable and inspiring showcase of athleticism, diversity, and camaraderie on the global stage.
