Health and Medical Services Minister Dr Ratu Atonio Rabici Lalabalavu along with the Heads of Department in the ministry met with World Health Organisation Regional Director in the Western Pacific Dr Saia Ma’u Piukala today.
Dr Piukala was accompanied by the Director of Pacific Technical Support and World Health Organisation Representative to the South Pacific Dr Mark Jacobs.
Top on the agenda of their meeting included the increase in HIV/AIDS in Fiji, tackling Non-Communicable Disease and also efforts in trying to reduce the mass exodus of healthcare workers in the country.
Lalabalavu said these were some of the major issues of concern for Fiji’s health sector at the moment.
