In a significant move to enhance digital connectivity in the central Pacific region, Google has unveiled plans to deploy two new intra-Pacific cables – Bulikula and Halaihai.
Teaming up with telecom powerhouses Amalgamated Telecom Holdings, APTelecom and Telstra, Google has a goal of strengthening internet infrastructure in the area, ultimately positioning Fiji as the undeniable hub of the Pacific.
The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Communications Minister, Manoa Kamikamica, who stressed the government’s commitment to adopt inclusive growth through technological advancements.
